On June 22nd, we held a moving event at the Muelle Luz Monument Park to commemorate the 124th anniversary of the birth of our eternal port leader, Aracelio Iglesias.

With the presence of Katia Labrada Vidal, Secretary General of the SNTTP; Roberto Ricardo Marrero, General Director of OSDE GEMAR; and a representation of executives from the business system, we paid tribute to his legacy. The floral offering and the presentation of the Aracelio Iglesias Medal to outstanding workers were moments of profound significance.

We remember this hero, who as Secretary General of the Union of Stevedores and Day Laborers of the Port of Havana (since 1939), achieved historic victories: he unified small unions into a single force, established rotating lists for equal opportunities, secured wage increases, paid time off, Mutual Aid Funds, the medical clinic, and the "Margarito Iglesias" school, benefiting thousands of workers and their families. Today, their ideals of justice, unity, and the fight for labor rights shine brighter than ever in our port.
