Commissioning of the Floating Dock.

This morning the opening ceremony of the Commissioning of the Floating Dock took place at CDC S.A. The event was chaired by Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, Minister of Transportation; Miguel Pineda López, General Director of the OSDE GEMAR; Wang Weimin, CMC Representative; Wei Jun Zhu, Deputy Director of HRDD Construction Shipyard, Johannes Miliam, General Manager of CDC S.A.; guests from the Chinese Embassy in Cuba, officials from MINCEX and the MEP; as well as the Municipal Secretary of the PCC of the Regla municipality.
This naval facility, built in the sister Republic of China, will increase the work capacity of the Shipyard and enhance the development of exports in naval repairs. It is considered that the work carried out in the shipyard from the operation of the Dam will constitute one of the main sources of foreign currency income to the country.
The event was the appropriate space for the General Director of the OSDE GEMAR to point out that with the Floating Dock at full capacity, the workers will be able to turn the entity into one of the main Shipyards in the area, which will allow the market to expand, develop and capture necessary personnel to carry out naval repair and thus establish a work system that places the Shipyard in a competitive position in Central America, the Caribbean and Europe.
