Cuban President meets with Dimitri Medvedev

The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and president of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, was received this Monday by the vice president of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dimitri Medvedev. Medvedev thanked the Cuban President for seeing him again in Moscow and described this visit by Diaz-Canel as intense, in which he will hold, he recalled, conversations with President Vladimir Putin, with Russian parliamentary and partisan authorities. These consultations, he pointed out, are a demonstration of the bonds of friendship that have united us for decades. We live in a complex world, under strong sanctions, and Cuba for us is a country with a lot of experience in these issues, he said. Sanctions against Cuba and against Russia, Medvedev affirmed, cannot slow down economic cooperation between our countries and the ties between our parties. The Cuban president showed his satisfaction at being in Russia and thanked Medvedev for the reception.
