Maritime port activity in Santiago de Cuba, Granma and Guantánamo.

English
I share with you information that I received from Roberto Ricardo Marrero, Vice Minister of Transport who a few weeks ago was appointed General Director of the Maritime Port Group (GEMAR) to strengthen its work in the midst of these difficult conditions. These are actions to be developed by this OSDE in several provinces in eastern Cuba:
Increase cabotage in the ports of Baracoa, Boquerón and Niquero, allowing no less than 70% of the basic basket of goods to be delivered to these territories by this route, with the recovery of a flatbed and a tugboat dedicated only to this traffic.
Increase the operations of import container ships through the port of Santiago de Cuba.
Conclude the investment in the warehouse in the port of Baracoa, devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
Conclude the investment in the waiting area of the terminal of the port of Santiago de Cuba and recover 2 of the 4 container equipment. Efficiently operate the unloading of ships using energy provided by solar panels.
Linked to these goals is attention to man and, in particular, to port workers, shipyard workers and sailors in these provinces, translated into better direct communication between their leaders and them, and better wages and food.
And finally, the struggle of all in the confrontation of indiscipline, illegalities and criminal acts.
All these objectives were addressed in Santiago de Cuba with the president of the Permanent Commission of Work for Attention to the Services of the National Assembly of People's Power, Tamara Valido Benítez.
From eastern Cuba, these days, the direction of OSDE GEMAR has continued the exercise of the highest oversight of MITRANS carried out by the National Assembly. This included meetings with the deputies who will have the responsibility of exercising control over the transport activity in this territory, with the highest authorities of the province and with labor groups.
