Wheat flour is distributed to produce bread in the East.

Last Saturday, a ship arrived through the port of Santiago de Cuba with 8,300 tons of wheat flour ready for distribution and consumption, supporting the provinces from Ciego de Ávila to Guantánamo, to stabilize bread production.

On Sunday they began to distribute the flour to the aforementioned territories, to immediately begin making bread for the family basket regulated in the east of the country.

Alberto López Díaz, Minister of the Food Industry, told the press that this flour does not involve an industrial process and, therefore, the times to stabilize production were shortened, and we will not have to wait until the end of March, as stated. previously announced.

This shipment responds to efforts by the highest leadership of the Cuban Government to respond to the real context, added the Minister, and assured that, despite the complex situation with fuel, transportation logistics from the port of Santiago de Cuba to planned destinations.

López Díaz reported that in the recent week a ship with wheat arrived at the port of Cienfuegos that will not guarantee all the demand for bread, but will allow a gradual recovery of the delays that had been accumulating for the center and the west, and will not the mill had to stop.
