As part of the Maritime Port Workers' Day, an inspiring meeting of women leaders in the sector took place today. Chaired by Madelis Delgado Reynaldo (Provincial Secretary of the FMC), Danna Álvarez Piñero (General Director of DGPOI-MITRANS), María Victoria Castanedo Ruiz (Provincial Secretariat), Harleidis Freeman Vaillant (Provincial Union Secretary), and Rosa M. Muñiz (Human Capital Director, OSDE GEMAR).

The discussion began with Decree 198/2021, which promotes the Program for the Advancement of Women (PAM), aligned with our Constitution. The importance of including women in all areas of the sector was emphasized, recognizing their crucial role in social development. Although women are already in reserve for management positions, let's strive for more of them in management positions!

Panelists with extensive experience shared their keys to success: combining theoretical knowledge with practice, constantly training, and always giving their best. Advances in equality policies were also highlighted: maternity law, labor protection, fair wages, and equal opportunities.

In closing, Madelis Delgado highlighted MITRANS' commitment to the PAM and made a historic call: Prepare yourselves without comparing yourselves to men; let's transform realities and make our impact visible in the media. Let's keep breaking waves!
