Two days later.

It is the second dawn after the news. The United States government has made the decision to begin a process leading to the elimination of Cuba from the list that they have drawn up of countries that supposedly support terrorism and to the adoption of other measures in the right direction. They have been taken belatedly by a government that has only a few days left and therefore cannot ensure their implementation by itself. We are not fooled, nor are we naive. We know that these are reversible steps and we know the intentions of those who wish to destroy us. The new decisions are very far from the elimination of the blockade; but even so, it is news that brings us closer to the image of a scenario that my generation and those after us have not experienced for a minute.

Only in the transport sector, which I know a little more about, a normal relationship with the United States would have a very strong impact, due to its geographic proximity, and economic and technological capacity. For Cuban aviation, today deprived of the ability to acquire airplanes; for navigation with the arrival of cruise ships and a much greater maritime-port exchange; For motor transport, with the presence in the Cuban market of automobile manufacturers with a guarantee of comprehensive after-sales services, with facilities for spare parts; for the railroad that could acquire the large locomotives that we once tried to buy without success; and for each of the branches of transport and in general for the mobility of people and loads, it would be a very positive scenario.

But that is not the reality today, regardless of what we want. Therefore, from the transport sector, our intense, continuous and urgent gaze must be dedicated to solving each of the problems, which are many, within our reach and a little more, applying the maxim that the impossible takes a little more time, resources, efforts.

This is how it dawns two days later, thanks also to the resistance and certainty that we can get out of the worst circumstances with development; and to the solidarity of many around the world who have turned our epic into theirs.
